    AWANA!

  2. DeejonLoy says:

As a former Homeschooler (I’m now 24-years-old) I do have to admit that while A FEW of these “lies” are based on reality, NONE of them are to the extremity that non-homeschoolers envision (or blimeycow demonstrates here).

MY SIBLINGS ARE MY BESTEST FRIENDS THEY’RE ALL I NEED.

  4. pinkknitting says:

I am a homeschooling mom and this video is great! Especially the part about doing school in your PJs because mom can also teach in her PJs and that is definitely the best part! LOL

  5. Artsyliz says:

Omigosh!! So hilarious, but so true.

@PolyConOne I was thinking the exact same thing..this video made him look desperate for acceptance. Apparently they only teach public school kids to use their inside voices, because my husband was home schooled too and he is loud as heck. lol

My kids used to go to public school. They have now hit 6 yrs homeschooling. Already my son has two legitimate jobs he can put on his resume. One as an office assistant for an RV park. He got paid $8 an hour under the table, & worked a max of 2 hours a day. He was 11 then. He also has his name in credits for a pilot movie he worked on as a production assistant at age 11. My daughter did the same job at age 10. Both kids have been asked to come back to help with filming a documentary.

This video cracks me up!! #1 is so true too. I homeschool my kids (9 & 11) and nearly 5 days of the week, we all school in our jammies, except for when we go to homeschool meetings on Mondays. Why not stay comfy for the most part??? And as for the social aspect, my home after the public school lets out and the bus goes by, is the neighborhood hotspot, so therefore my kids are very well socialized. Oftentimes, waaaay too much for me, because these kids come over and don’t want to go home. :-)

  9. everlend says:

    LOL…This is so true!

  10. raskew2 says:

I went to public school but was raised by my Christian grandmother who taught math through trigonometry for 44 years. That was for 4 hours a day after regular school. I didn’t appreciate it then but I was blessed to have her as my individual tutor.

She and I did algebra problems for fun!!!

  11. i8urchicken says:

@PolyConOne I see the point he is making. And sometimes for the uninformed anti-homeschooler people, you just have to get animated so that they will understand. In otherwords, he is dumbing it down for the slow minded. :-) I on the otherhand, get it.

  12. i8urchicken says:

@CrankyScientist I hope my kids are referred to as nerds some day. :-) I think that is something I should strive for as a parent, because I know it inevitibly means a better and brighter future for my homeschooled kids. Nerds typically = successful adults.

  13. AnastaceMusic says:

let me get this straight, you spend 8 hrs a day in the same place every day? and you say we have no lives… HECK NOOOOOO ** best moment of entire video. :-)

  14. PolyConOne says:

@i8urchicken As someone who was home schooled for 8 years, I get it. I used to be the same way. Funny though, I remember being far less assumptive.

  15. PolyConOne says:

@PolyConOne And maybe you missed it because you were too concerned with attacking someone because they have an opinion that does’nt match yours…but I think his sketch is funny…just forced…he is a smart writer and he should let the jokes speak for themselves.

  16. delithug1138 says:

uhhh… yeah. I was home schooled until my sophomore year and would have agreed with this whole thing. And then I went to public school. Everything he said was true and I now hate that my parents decided to home school me.

  17. alexandriaedwards10 says:

AWANA!!! oh gosh. my cousins were all home schooled and they all got stereotyped like this. but seriously, not all home schoolers are like the stereotypes.

I loved AWANA by the way :) “we are sparks for Jesus! sparks to light the world!”

  18. illsleydan1009 says:

    typical homeschooler…..jk

  19. Akira6766 says:

I was home schooled, I hid my gameboy underneath the blanket all the time and lazily did my “homework.” Ended up taking remedial courses my first year or two after ‘graduating’ with a high school equivalency at 16 in 06. Why? Because I didn’t know my math. I was sheltered, I went to church twice a week, etc. People don’t think you go to church 7 days a week, they assume your family is religious. They assume you ended up overly sheltered from anything your parents didn’t like. It’s pretty true.

  20. ImaGeenome says:

So I noticed that you don’t talk exactly “perfect” and I want to say you’re awesome for not caring about that. I’m really self conscience about the way I talk, but one day I hope I can shout it out just as carelessly as you :) Rock on!

  21. cliportis says:

Home Schooling is where it’s at. This is the best video I’ve seen in a long time. SUBBED

  22. AaronTheBaron18 says:

@thedzgirl Nice use of anecdotal evidence, stupid. Mommy obviously didn’t teach you about that. Home-schooled children are much more likely to be socially retarded than those who attend schooling with more kids around. Empiricism is king and shall set you free from the chains of stupidity and ignorance of our society.

  23. MrTestosterone100 says:

…dude…you just got yourself a freakin’ subscription…god bless you for making this video…

  24. 1SuperJule says:

You are freaking hilarious. I was homeschooled my entire life and these stereotypes are so true. In fact by the end of high school I just flat out stopped telling people I was homeschooled unless they asked. Most of my friends or acquaintances were none the wiser and were shocked I was so “normal” once they found out. Oh the stereotypes. -.-

  25. cashclanJapan says:

Oh my gosh, this kid is like the home-schooled version of Ashton Kutcher!! I am a homeschooling mom of 4 kids in Japan and I seriously just about peed myself watching this. SOO funny. I loved the “Can you imagine a world without Lady Gaga? That sounds like heaven.” It really does, doesn’t it? I hope that I can teach my kids (in our pajamas!!!) to have an equally keen sense of observation and humor as this young man. Dude, did he have ANY idea that THIS would be the post that would go viral???
