@hectormusic111 actually in the Champions League (current format, after the 1991-92 season the European Cup was formally changed to the Champions League) they have the same amount of titles: Real Madrid 3 (’98,’00,’02) ; Barcelona 3 (’06,’09,’11) . . . lol Madrid 3 in 6 years, Barcelona 3 in 5 years. (; if (a big IF of course, not saying it will happen but IF) Barcelona win this season’s competition, they will be the the first side to win the Champions League (current format) two years running.

@hectormusic111 they count, sure. but the tournament has expanded a lot in 30, 40, 50 years.. Real Madrid would never be able to win the CL 5x in a row, and Bayern wouldn’t have won it 3x in a row in the present-day.. I’m not taking anything away from them, I’m just saying it’s more competitive now. there’s a reason Milan was the last team to win 2 straight European Cups from 1989-90.. and that no team has been able to win consecutive CL titles, let alone 3, 4 or 5 in a row like Bayern and RM.
@Messi10Villa7 I disagree somewhat. Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Bayern and even United and Chelsea (when they aret in form) etc can win consecutive CL’s. I agree though, much more competitive. I fully expect PSG and Man. City to be big threats in the future.
